Bringing ideas into reality by creating beautiful identities and intuitive experiences to interact with the world 🌎 .
A Lagos based designer turning ideas into identities and creating beautiful and simple ways to interact with the world.

About Me

My design philosophy is centred around simplicity and usability. I believe in creating designs that are easy to use and intuitive, minimizing the need for unnecessary explanation or instruction. As a senior product designer, I have led design on mobile and web products across fintech startups, music tech startups, clean tech startups and a non-profit. I have worked on a range of exciting projects, including Firespot, Gojë, Spritz, Sonar Watch, Joko, Micronutrient Fortification Index (An initiative by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation), Gomoney, Kippa Money and the redesign of KippaPay's mobile and web apps.

Collaboration and communication come naturally to me, and I'm often told that I'm the glue that keeps a project together. I'm a designer with a project management bent, and I help teams carry projects through to the finish line. My personal guiding principles include a deep understanding of the problems users face and their pain points. Over time, I've developed a strong sense of empathy that drives my work. As a connector of people and ideas, I believe in the power of personal relationships and cross-pollination of ideas to enrich our communities, ideas, and well-being. I maintain close connections with forward-thinking designers and industry leaders all around the world and co-organised a Product hunt meet-up in Lagos, Nigeria that hosted over 100 people.

Looking to the future, I plan to continue developing my skills and knowledge in the field while mentoring junior designers. Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive impact on people's lives through design by creating products that are intuitive, usable, functional and visually appealing.

My Process

My work involves designing better experiences for users. To understand problems, I extensively use design research, looking, listening, and learning from insights. I find ways to co-create with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and business goals. I excel at creating order out of chaos, distilling research insights, and dealing with complex relationships. I am passionate about creating innovative and user-centred designs. I then use this information to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

One of the most notable projects I worked on recently is Kippa Money, Kippa's first revenue generating feature, where I designed the user interface and user experience. This project allowed me to showcase my ability to take a holistic approach to design, considering the business context behind the product and users' needs. I have been fortunate to work on a range of exciting projects at Kippa, including the redesign of our mobile app, the development of a new product line, and the creation of a comprehensive design system. Each project has provided me with new challenges and opportunities to grow as a designer, and I am proud of the impact that my work has had on the company and its users.

What I've been up to

Beyond my work as a designer, I've contributed to the creation of  Researchkit, a collaborative guide to UX research with Praise Fabilola. In my free time, you can find me painting, riding my bike, partying, travelling, kayaking, playing golf, listening to music, watching movies, restaurant hopping, reading books, sifting through google search or hanging out with my friends.
